I have the same comment here about surface vs. structure -- however some of these drawings almost look like they are wire sculptures -- I'd suggest drawing some quick gestures where you use this continuous line technique but instead of running the line along the surface of the forms -- have it define the basic skeletal shapes -- as if you are creating a wire armature. It might help you reverse the outside in approach.
